The central focus of every Christian personally and every Church corporately should be Jesus Christ. All of life is about Him. Every problem that we face in life is a problem of incorrect thinking about Jesus, not thinking about Jesus, or failing to live like Jesus. For years wars have been fought over Jesus, people have died or been persecuted for their belief in Jesus. Men have tried to stop the name of Jesus from being preached. Others have so distorted the message of Jesus, that people have not really seen the biblical Jesus, but a Jesus of man’s making. Many have made up their own Jesus’ apart from scripture and led millions of people away from the truth that is found in Him. There is no character of history that has been more maligned, misconstrued, and mistreated than Jesus, and yet there is no character that is more worthy of our thoughts, our worship, and our lives than Jesus. The apostle John wrote “But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. (Jn 20:31)” Over the next months at Bethel Baptist Church, we want to see from the gospel of John who Jesus is and persuade you to believe and then live the truth of Jesus in your life. The great result of believing and living is that you will experience a life worth living.
